“Blocked” is aptly named for its villain-of-the-day, Vanessa Jansen, whose metahuman powers gift her the ability to manipulate the density of the molecules around her. (Cisco’s line, “We’re pretty good at handing the future its own ass,” is particularly funny.) This episode continues the setup of the season premiere by showing us more of the (as of right now) presumed season villain who had murdered and, presumably, absorbed the power from Gridlock at the end of the aforementioned kickoff. The revelation that Barry will go missing sometime in the future and not return even after 25 years hits everyone, including Iris, despite her attempt to save face, noting they’ve changed the future a number of times already. The “Blocked” Plot: CHRIS KLEIN JOINS “THE FLASH” - As Barry (Gustin) helps his daughter, Nora (Parker Kennedy), become a better speedster, he and Team Flash also track down a meta stealing high-tech weapons, only to cross paths with a new foe named Cicada (Chris Klein), who is hunting the very same meta with nefarious intent.Taking the baton from the season premiere, “Blocked” begins with Nora and Barry revealing to the rest of the team the real reason for Nora staying in the present and not wanting to leave yet.
The cast also includes Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Nora West-Allen, and Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton. The Flash season five cast includes Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco, Candice Patton as Iris West, and Jesse L Martin as Joe West. Season five episode two was directed by Kim Miles from a script by Eric Wallace and Judalina Neira. Season five continues with episode two titled “Blocked” and airing on October 16, 2018. After discovering the true reason for his time-traveling speedster daughter’s appearance, Barry decided to let her stick around for a while in hopes of figuring out why he’s disappeared in the future.
Nora traveled from the future to spend some time with her dad who, it turns out, will eventually go missing shortly after her birth. The CW’s The Flash season five premiered on Octowith an episode that brought Barry and Iris’ daughter, Nora, onto Team Flash.
